All are welcome at The Crossing Arts! No matter your past experience creating, collecting, or appreciating art, The Crossing Arts is a place where you (yes, you!) can learn more about making and appreciating the world of visual art. At The Crossing Arts, you can see a range of work by regional artists; hear exhibiting artists talk about their work; learn more about the different painting techniques; encourage creativity in your kids; and/or find a handmade, unique gift.
Art is an expression of the human experience. It’s about creating something because it is relaxing and good for our mental health to be creative. It’s about seeing and appreciating something beautiful that someone else created. It’s about finding others who might also be yearning to try something new, meet someone new, and hear more about one another’s lived experiences.
Art is about life and what it means to be alive! We’re here for you, right in Downtown Brainerd. Come on in!
More than 25 years ago, a group of community members came together to develop a Big Idea. With support from the Blandin Foundation, the founding members of The Crossing Arts Alliance, knowing that the arts are a vital piece of the human experience, created an organization that has brought innumerable art exhibitions, events, and learning opportunities to the Greater Brainerd Lakes Area. Thanks to their vision and commitment - and to the ongoing commitment of people like YOU, the artists, leaders, volunteers, members, and supporters that have been part of this work - The Crossing Arts Alliance remains a critical resource in our community, ensuring that opportunities for arts education and experiences continue to thrive in our region.
This is no small thing! This is an achievement to be celebrated.
